All of ECS Airborne Down Link Transmitters can operate from both rotary and fixed wing platforms. The downlinks are optimised for Military and Police surveillance use, providing high quality link continuity and allowing for superior range. ECS links and user interfaces are optimised for the tactical operator whilst providing a picture quality equivalent to the professional broadcast market. Low latency imagery, audio and GPS data available where the Commander needs it can significantly aid the decision making cycle.
A proprietary substitution cipher system is used as standard encryption. A more sophisticated level of encryption using 256 bit AES cipher block chaining and proprietary special enforcing functions is available subject to export licence control outside the EU.
ECS Airborne Down Link microwave systems often exceed Customers expectations.
Because of its height, the aircraft makes an ideal location for rebroadcasting uplinked signals from the ground; ECS provide a range of suitable aircraft qualified receiving equipment.
These uplinked images may either be viewed in the aircraft and/or retransmitted using the second video channel of the ECS downlink, a function that is provided as standard.
ECS recommend downlink transmitters operate in set bands between 1.2 GHz and 5.4 GHz*.
ECS have Air Certification for all downlink products.
*Other frequencies are available on request, after consultation with a sales representative.
