High Definition COFDM Vehicle Receiver Module
The Enterprise Control Systems Ltd (ECS) Coded Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (COFDM) High Definition (HD) Video Link Diversity Receiver (VLDR) has been specifically designed for installation into a vehicle. The receiver is rugged, controllable and designed to operate with either aircraft or ground-based transmitters.

General Description

A vehicle-based, high definition receiver system consists of the Video Link Diversity Receiver-Intermediate Frequency-High Definition (VLDR-IF-HD), two line-powered Low Noise Block (LNB) downconverters and a hand held controller unit. The receiver will automatically select the matching code rate and demodulation scheme for any given input signal. Decryption is based on ‘Destinations’ and is fully automatic.

The ECS COFDM digital receiver can be used with a wide variety of covert and overt antennas.

When used with either the ECS 1 Watt or 10 Watt COFDM transmitters, the resultant encrypted video link is extremely robust and ideal for surveillance in built-up areas.
The VLDR-IF-HD has two IF inputs for diversity operation. This has been shown to improve link range and resilience. The receiver will choose the input with the best signal quality on a carrier-by-carrier basis and in real time. Diversity operation has been shown to provide a 6 - 8 dB link budget improvement over a single antenna receive system.
Mobile applications of the vehicle-based receiver system include:
• Vehicle to vehicle
• Person to vehicle
• Aircraft to vehicle.
