Posted 2015-07-14

We are extremely pleased to announce that James Kent has been selected as one of only 10 National Finalist for the WorldSkills UK Industrial Electronics competition following regional heats held across the UK early this year.

James, who successfully completed his three year apprenticeship with ECS last year, is now working as an Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Test Engineer within the ECS Research and Development Team.

The national finals are being held at the Skills Show at the NEC in Birmingham in November. The Skills Show hosts the WorldSkills UK national competitions, bringing skills to life as the best of the best compete with incredible ability.

WorldSkills UK inspires young people and adults to be ambitious in their pursuit of skills to the highest level. The National Competitions are designed to test competitors’ skills in a range of critical elements that demonstrate excellence in their chosen trade. The activity, designed by industry experts, enhances qualities valued by employers such as team work, time management and working to deadlines.

We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate James on his success in the competition so far and wish him the very best of luck in the national finals later in the year.
