When considering Convoy Protection, mitigating against potential threats is the key to success when it comes to keeping Very Very Important Persons (VVIPs) protected. In recent times, the use of Remote Controlled Improvised Explosive Devices (RCIEDs) presents the highest threat to VVIP’s when transiting by road or when roaming in public areas. Understanding the Convoy Protection threat and applying a decisive response in the Radio Frequency Spectrum makes sure that VVIP’s have the appropriate protection allowing them to get on with their daily routine with minimal disruption.
Enterprise Control Systems Ltd (ECS)has vast experience in the Convoy Protection field when it comes to providing high quality integration of its VVIP products into commercial vehicles; this can be for both luxury and standard models and can be used in a mobile or static role.
To counter the latest threats from RCIEDs, ECS has developed a family of Radio Frequency Inhibitors as part of its Convoy Protection range. The entry level is a lightweight man pack jammer. KESTREL is a family of flexible-role lightweight jamming systems designed so they can be easily deployed. The system can be quickly deployed in a back pack, or a carry forward frame.
The KESTREL family design uses sophisticated Direct Digital Synthesis (DDS) technology to provide a flexible programmable power efficient solution. The Kestrel jamming system is completely integrated and comes with a battery docking interface compatible with LIPS5 Lithium Ion battery (with an option for LIPS9 battery) to provide fully autonomous operation in excess of 4 hours. The ‘Kestrel’ comes equipped with an integral GPS antenna that can be removed for vehicle mounting applications.
With a wide selection of antennas across the threat frequency band, ECS will ensure that the integration of the Convoy Protection system is not only of the highest cosmetic standard, but the system performs to its maximum potential, guaranteeing protection of the VVIP.
ECS provides a range of force protection jamming equipment for use in environmental and electronically harsh environments in roles such as man-pack, static site, carry forward and vehicle convoy and recommend the following equipment for use in these types of VVIP roles:
