Video Link Series 24

The Video Link Series 24 System is a Near Line of Sight (NLoS) microwave analogue system designed and supplied by Enterprise Control Systems Ltd (ECS). The system provides broadcast quality pictures and ranges of over 50 km may be achieved. The transmitter provides excellent power efficiency. The system has been reliable and popular with police technical support units throughout the Company’s 25 year history.

General Description

ECS has supplied the UK and overseas police and security market with a range of cutting edge, radio equipment for transmission and reception of high quality video, audio and data. The Video Link Series 24 analogue technology is still as popular now as it was in the 1990s. The system is a reliable, robust alternative to its digital alternatives; the equipment demonstrates why ECS is the market leader in Radio Frequency (RF) design and product supply for the security market.
 
Video Link Series 24 comprises of the transmitter (VLT 24/x), and receiver (VLR 24/x). Systems are available in L and S IEEE radio bands. The units are designed for professional security users and are straightforward to operate. The transmitter and receiver are ruggedised with aluminium alloy enclosures (IP-65).
The transmitter has a 10 W output power, built in isolator and a single audio sub-carrier that may be used to carry data or audio. The receiver has an excellent sensitivity of -87 dBm; it weighs 720 g and is 245 x 85 x 34 mm in size.
 
Video and audio performance is to broadcast quality. Full protection is provided against input over voltage and reverse polarity; full protection of output short or open circuit is also provided. A range of antennas are available: omnidirectional for point-to-multipoint transmission or, patch antennas for longer range, directionally-focussed transmission and reception.
