Tove RF Datalink is a lightweight Software Defined Radio (SDR) designed for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGV) and Unmanned Surface Vessels (USV) for use in airborne, ground and maritime applications, where Size, Weight and Power (SWaP) is at a premium. Providing full backward compatibility with ECS Evenlode Ground Data Terminals (GDT).

General Description

Tove is a lightweight SDR based RF data transmitter that provides superior connectivity for use in airborne, ground and maritime applications. With SD/HD/3G-SDI, CVBS, USB and Ethernet inputs, Tove is compatible with the new and legacy sensor systems.
The onboard low latency H.265, H.264 1080p video encoder provides superior compression, allowing for reduction in channel bandwidth, increased spectral efficiency and best in class range. GPS and bi-directional telemetry data is combined with the Tove transport stream to provide positional data and sensor control to the fixed or mobile receive stations.
Adopting ECS’s extremely robust and configurable DVB-T COFDM protocol, Tove includes an integrated 2 Watt amplifier to transmit data to compatible receive systems, such as ECS Evenlode datalink Ground Data Terminals (GDT), ECS handheld receiving devices or compliant DVB-T receivers. An optional 10 Watt amplifier is available for extreme ranges.
Tove is provided with an omnidirectional antenna for point-to-multipoint data exchange. Ground equipment can be offered with a range of omnidirectional and position-steered antenna systems. Ground Receiver Equipment (GRE) may be deployed across a wide area and networked to provide extended coverage.
